Anthony Niehaus has a unique background making him particularly qualified for the health care technology industry.  With a BS in Genetics from Purdue University and over a decade of experience with information technology, software development, regulatory compliance and network security, he provides valuable insight in the healthcare technology industry and the direction it is headed.

Anthony first began working in regulatory and compliance with Privacy Council in 2001 developing web applications for GLBA, HIPAA, and Internet privacy standards.  Work with lobbyist groups in DC and around the country opened up opportunities to begin work with regulatory compliance in security going well beyond the privacy component of compliance.  He has extensive background with IT auditing in the financial sector and ISO 17799 security requirements for network infrastructures in fortune 1000 organizations.

While at Citadel Security Software, now McAfee, Anthony worked in sales and business development integrating software implemetation strategies into large consulting security practices for global network security awareness.  After Citadel was acquired by McAfee, Anthony branched out into his own ventures and is currently developing joint ventures in health IT leaning on his experience in technology in combination with his medical education.

Anthony created this blog to help health care practitioners to better understand the immense amount of information and growth in the health care IT industry and what it all means to the end user.  His goal is to provide a portal for information, news, and resources helping make the health care provider’s implementation and use of new health care technology easy and painless.
